Open a New Account

If you need to open a new account, a service agreement is required.

If your preference is to complete the service agreement in person, you can come directly to our office at 950 East Main Street during our regular business hours. It is recommended that this is done three (3) business days in advance of your closing date and/or the start of your lease. Please note that as part of our due diligence to verify occupancy, we may require a copy of a lease agreement, lawyer’s letter, transfer deed, or other relevant document as a requirement for service.

It is important to be aware that a security deposit will be charged on all accounts unless you meet the criteria to have it waived. To waive a residential security deposit you can:

  • sign up for pre-authorized payments,
  • provide a reference letter from a previous utility which states that you had/have a good payment history at that location, or
  • if you are receiving social assistance, provide a deposit waiver letter from your case manager at the Region of Niagara.

Transfer Your Account

If you are moving and need to transfer your account to a new address within our service territory, a service agreement is required at the new location. Transfer My Account to complete and submit your service agreement online.
