This calculator can help you approximate the amount of electricity you use on a monthly basis. The calculation is based on an electricity cost of
¢ per kWh, which includes energy, delivery and regulatory charges. The costs on your bill will not exactly match these results as the calculator omits GST charges and monthly service charges, since these charges are not based on usage. Use this calculator as a guide to find ways to use less electricity.
Note: You will notice that when changing the selected appliance, the Appliance Tip and Appliance Details fields for Quantity, Hours/day, Minutes/day, and Days/month will change and will reflect the default information based on the typical average household use. You can leave these as is, or you can change them depending on how much you use that particular appliance.
Note:You will also see a field for Power Used (kW). The values in this field represent the energy typically used by this appliance in one hour. This field cannot be modifed.
